XL4+ First Stage features:

This over-balanced first stage offers several key features. A breakthrough, over-moulded endcap and environmental diaphragm prevent ice build-up. Consequently, this reduces free flow risk in extreme conditions. Additionally, it protects the first stage from impact damage. The large surface area heat exchanger diaphragm clamp increases gas temperature. This significantly improves cold water performance.

Moreover, the unique, over-balanced diaphragm design enhances deep water performance. As the diver descends, medium-pressure gas increases faster than ambient pressure. Therefore, this results in superior performance at depth.
